Pengaruh Suplementasi Ekstrak Daun Katuk Plus Kunyit pada Pakan Berlemak Tinggi terhadap Kualitas Karkas Broiler

ABSTRACT

One hundred and fifty broiler chickens aged 21 days were distributed to 10 treatment groups as follows: 1) broiler chickens were fed 6% palm oil containing diet without supplementation; 2) broiler chicken were fed 6% palm oil containing diet supplemented with 9 g Sauropus androgynus extract (SAE) plus 0.5g turmeric powder; 3) broiler chicken were fed 6% palm oil containing diet supplemented with 18 g SAE plus 0.5 g turmeric powder; 4) broiler chicken were fed 6% palm oil containing diet supplemented with 9 g SAE plus 1 g turmeric powder; 5) broiler chicken were fed 6% palm oil containing diet supplemented with 18 g SAE plus 1 g turmeric powder; 6) broiler chickens were fed 6% tallow containing diet without supplementation; 7) broiler chicken were fed 6% tallow containing diet supplemented with 9 g SAE plus 0.5g turmeric powder; 8) broiler chicken were fed 6% tallow containing diet supplemented with 18 g SAE plus 0.5 g turmeric powder; 9) broiler chicken were fed 6% tallow containing diet supplemented with 9 g SAE plus 1 g turmeric powder; 10) broiler chicken were fed 6%  tallow containing diet supplemented with 18 g SAE plus 1 g turmeric powder. Experimental results showed that supplementation of katuk leaves extract plus turmeric powder had no effect on (P>0,05) carcass weight, cooking loss, meat smell and internal organ weight, but it significantly changed (P<0,05) taste, color and kalium of broiler meats. Inconclusion, supplementation of Sauropus androgynus extract and turmeric powder increased carcass quality.

ABSTRAK
Seratus lima puluh  ekor broiler didistribusikan ke dalam 10 kelompok perlakuan sebagai berikut: 1) broiler diberi pakan berminyak sawit 6% tanpa ekstrak daun katuk (EDK) dan tepung kunyit; 2) broiler diberi pakan berminyak sawit 6% yang mengandung 9 g EDK plus 0,5 g tepung kunyit; 3) broiler diberi pakan berminyak sawit 6% yang mengandung 18 g EDK plus 0,5 g tepung kunyit; 4) broiler diberi pakan berminyak sawit 6% yang mengandung 9 g EDK plus 1 g tepung kunyit; 5) broiler diberi pakan berminyak sawit 6% yang mengandung 18 g EDK plus 1 g tepung kunyit; 6) broiler diberi pakan berlemak sapi 6% tanpa ekstrak daun katuk (EDK) dan tepung kunyit; 7) broiler diberi pakan berlemak sapi 6% yang mengandung 9 g EDK plus 0,5 g tepung kunyit; 8) broiler diberi pakan berlemak sapi 6% yang mengandung 18 g EDK plus 0,5 g tepung kunyit; 9) broiler diberi pakan berlemak sapi 6% yang mengandung 9 g EDK plus 1 g tepung kunyit; 10) broiler diberi pakan berlemak sapi 6% yang mengandung 18 g EDK plus 1 g tepung kunyit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi EDK dan tepung kunyit berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap berat karkas, cooking loss, bau daging dan berat organ dalam, tetapi berpengaruh secara nyata (P<0,05) terhadap rasa, warna dan kadar kalium daging. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi EDK dan tepung kunyit meningkatkan kualitas karkas broiler.
